A Weeping Average

I stared wide eyed
At the brutal banality
Limbs weighed heavy
With the raving typicality
That bounds about me

Creeping cursed apathy
That passes for safety
Comfort taken in
Replacing daring
With finality

A planned average
Is not a democracy
No fighting chance
For unusual dictatory
Instead burdened
By bloody mediocrity
